Resilient Leaders

Resilience: From the Latin resile-to leap back; the ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.

More than education, more than experience, more than training, a person's level of resilience will determine who succeeds and who fails. That's true in the cancer ward, it's true in the Olympics, and it's true in the boardroom, (Dean Becker, an American CEO)

Why do some people bounce back from difficulty and hardship whilst others are overwhelmed? How can we retain the capacity to feel and connect with what is happening and still renew the physical, emotional and intellectual energy necessary to catalyse fresh thinking and collaboration?

World-wide research on building personal and organizational resilience offers valuable perspectives on how to approach the challenges inherent in the current economic climate.

I am running seminars on this topic, which is of importance to so many groups in both the public and private sectors.

Coaching mini-breaks in an area of outstanding natural beauty

A combination of a half-day coaching session with a renewing get-away-from-it-all break, particularly useful for clarifying decisions, exploring new directions or examining one’s working life in depth.

Majestic natural surroundings can greatly aid in gaining new perspectives, so I am delighted to link for this work with The Old Rectory, an award-winning 5-star B+B in Snowdonia on the shores of a lake surrounded by breath-taking mountain scenery.

Meaning and Mindfulness in Business

A retreat in Snowdonia National Park

An invitation to reflect upon some of the profound questions which underlie the world of work, and to practice the art of mindful living. We will use the nature and the elements of this wild and beautiful landscape to enhance our discussions.

There will be no fee, simply costs of accommodation, food and the services of the cook.

If you are interested, contact Ann to discuss the retreat.

Kitchen Alchemy-team development through cooking together

Following a passion, I have co-authored a cookbook which focuses on the way we shop, cook and eat called Kitchen Alchemy-transform yourself through food.

Bringing this approach into the business world, chef Phillippa Lee and I now offer customised team development based upon the popular foodie retreats we run in Spain and in the UK. We use the mindful cooking delicious meals together as a powerful means of bringing people together and increasing mutual understanding and support. It is a hugely enjoyable way of doing so!
